Geographical Indication (Wine & Spirits) Registarion Act. (2006–not in action till 2017). 12 new GIs as of 2018. Brings protection in international marketplace– inline with EU – 85% varietal & vintage, from stated GI.
No laws governing enrichment, acidification, pruning, yields, or irrigation techniques, just like all other new world countries.

Huge gravel deposits and flat plains. Older soils can have high limestone content. Various (broken schist and clay, heavy silt loam, gravel, light sand)
