Who did Obadiah prophesy against?
A
Obadiah prophesies against Edom (the descendants of Esau), who was a source of conflict for
the Israelites. The Edomites rejoiced over the destruction of Israel by foreign invaders, but God
rebukes them and assures them of their destruction, while promising Israel deliverance and
peace.
