Force North Vietnam to give up the war, and agree to a settlement acceptable to US terms, and to protect South Vietnam and win the support of the Southern Vietnamese.

Convince the Southern people to get rid of their government. Destroy the moral of the ARVN . Inflict enough damage on US troops to convince then to withdraw. Fight until full unification and liberation of Vietnam were achieved.
