Cephalic birth

1. Imminent birth, encourage panting
2. 2 fingers on baby’s head
3. Encourage pushing with each contraction
4. Allow baby head to turn, hands on either side of head
5. Move head posteriorly to deliver top shoulder
6. Move head anteriorly for other shoulder
7. Guide up to mothers chest, skin to skin +tactile

Neonatal resuscitation

Answer 3

1. Good tone, breathing, crying = cephalic
2. HR >100 = reassess continually
3. IPPV RA at 60bpm 30sec
4. HR 60-100 bpm continue IPPV with O2 15L
5. <60 commence CPR
