What are you going to say to the mother

A

1- it’s defined when there is skin pruritis with no rash or other skin condition and raised bile acid with no liver disorder and symptoms of itching and LFT and bile acid resolves after delivery.

2- no specific test to confirm the diagnosis of ICP
3- ask about symptoms, itching, rash , eye discolouration, yellow stool , statures, any skin condition.
4- the risk of still birth is above the population risk when Bile acid levels are 100 or more
If bile acid is between 40-99 the Risk of still birth is smiler as population at 38-39
Bile acid between 19- 39 the risk of still birth is similar as the population.
4The ctg monitoring and scan will not prevent still birth
5- to report if any RFM
6- increase risk of PET and diabetes
7- if yell stool can give vitamin K
8- repeat LFT and bile if symptoms of itching and normal bloods
9- CTG for bile acid 100 and more or less than 100 with other risk factors such as PET / diabetes
10- no risk of PPH
11- follow in 4 weeks with GP
12- ICP dose not influence contraception, if pt has COCP and developed ICP shoud take progesterone only.
Pt can have antihistamine and emollient for itching
13- deoxcycholic is routinely given and will not improve the successful outcome or prevent still birth.
