Oc1 Flashcards
(8 cards)
Describe the difference between conventional current and electron flow
Conventional current travels positive to negative while electron flow travels negative to positive
Resistance
Is how much a material or object opposes the flow of electrons
Current
Current is the rate the charge flows past a defined point
Volts
Voltage is the force that pushes electrons around a circuit
Power
Power is the rate that energy is being transformed from one form to another
Energy
Energy is the potential to do work
Kirchov current rule
The sum of current into a junction must be equal to the sum leaving the junction
I3=I1+I2=0
Kirchhof voltage law
The algebraic sum of the voltage (potential) difference in any loop must equal zero
