Q

When are controllers permitted to activate the “Conflict Override” function?

A
  • when domestic or military separation is being applied
  • changing levels after mutual sight and pass
  • traffic info has been passed to aircraft outside controlled airspace
  • responsibility for separation has been delegated to another sector
  • the conflict is wholly contained in another FIR and brought to their attention if necessary
  • the conflict is with a SUA/MIL area for RNZAF ops, which is outside controlled airspace, if there is reasonable assurance the aircraft will out climb the area and a position report is obtained to confirm
