October Flashcards
Jenks Natural Breaks
Determines best arrangement of values into different classes
Primary Colors
Blue, Yellow, Red
Secondary Colors
Orange, Green, Purple
Tertiary Colors
Red-Orange, Yellow-Orange, Yellow-Green, Blue-Green, Blue-Violet, Red-Violet
What are complementary color (with examples)?
Colors opposite one another on the color wheel
- e.g. blue & orange, red & green, yellow & purple
What are analogous colors (with examples)?
Colors next to one another on the color wheel
- e.g. blue, blue-green, green
What are triadic colors (with examples)?
Colors evenly spread around the color wheel
- e.g. red, yellow, blue
Sequential color scheme
Uses a single hue with increasing intensity/darkness to display higher values
Diverging color scheme
Uses two different hues that diverge from a central neutral color
Qualitative/Categorical color scheme
No inherent order to the colors involved, but they are visually distinct from one another
Using the slope and aspect tool, slope refers to….
the steepness of terrain
using the slope and aspect tool, aspect refers to….
the direction slopes are facing
What can the slope and aspect tool be used for?
Identifying erosion risk, water flow direction, and sunlight exposure
Reclassify
Simplify data via grouping values (useful for zoning)
TIN Creation
Converting raster data to detail 3D models using triangles (ideal for 3D visualization)
