What is a core point of Lennie
· Lennie is severely mentally handicapped and tends to act like a child.

· He cant remember anything and keeps getting himself into trouble.

· He remembers every word George says, especially the dream with the farm and the rabbits.
What does lennie do to Curley
· Lennie is incredibly strong; he is an excellent worker and badly hurts Curley in the fight.

· He kills Curley’s wife by accident and returns to the brush when he realises how much trouble he is in.

· He dies whilst dreaming about life on the farm with his rabbits.
What is lennie described as?
• Lennie is described as very large and strong with soft features. This shows he is very strong but kind and naïve.And he is often described as an animal.
Why did they often pick on lennie
• Lennie is handicapped which means he is an obvious target for discrimination.
Why does lennie stay with George?
• He is not capable of surviving on his own. He travels with George which is unusual for migrant workers.
How does Lennie contribute to the theme of loneliness?
• Lennie travels with George so is less lonely than migrant works would typically have been. He is probably too ignorant realise how difficult his life is.
What is Lennie’s dream?
• Lennie is obsessed with the Rabbits. He loves hearing the story. George tells him this story as he kills him so that his final moments are happy. He handicap means that this dream is never going to happen.
What does George do with Lennie?
• George travels with Lennie around California to find low paid work.
Why does Slim respect George?
• George is a good worker and an honest man. Slim respects him for this.
What does George expect to happen?
• When Curley’s wife is killed, George knows exactly what has happened and seems to have expected it all along.And that Lennie would seem to mess something up.
What does George do to Lennie?
• He finds Lennie in the brush and takes responsibility for killing him.
What does George look like?
• He is smaller than Lennie with sharper features – this shows he is intelligent and street wise, in comparison with Lennie.
What is George’s dream?
• George has a dream to ‘live of the fat o’ the land.’ He is chasing his version of the American Dream.
