A

This is usually due to extradural compression as a result of vertebral body masses

What are the clinical features of neoplastic spinal cord compression?

A
  • Back pain - most commonly the earliest sign
  • Leg weakness
  • Neurological signs - Lesions above L1 usually cause UMN signs in the legs and sensory changes. Below L1 usually cause LMN signs and perianal numbness

An urgent MRI must be carried out within 24 hours
