Characteristics of op-amps
- differential input
- high input resistance: V- does not affect the network that defines H and V+ does not affect signal source
- low output resistance: system can drive a load without Vo being affected
- gain > 100000
Why cannot inverting amplifiers be used to amplify sources with large thevinin resistances
Input resistor is in parallel with source resistance, if source resistance is large, the input is attenuated and gain is diminished
What is coupling/decoupling
Coupling: transmitting signals from one place to another
Decoupling: removing signals from the nodes in the circuits
