What is a tactical action officer (TAO)?
Only person other than the CO who has weapons release authority. TAO fights the ship.
What is the Combat Information Center watch officer (CICWO)?
Assist the TAO by overseeing all of the CIC’s watch stations and maintaining the common tactical picture from the command table.
What is a Combat Information Center watch supervisor (CICWS)?
Assist the TAO and CICWO by supervising the combat watch standers by maintaining operational readiness
What is operational tasking (OPTASK)?
Specific task in orders and instructions for a specified period of time.
What is an amphibious ready groups?
Comprised of one amphibious assault ship (LHD, LHA), which is the (HVU) high value unit. The rest of the group consist of DDGs, CGs, LPD, ETC.

Provides a rapid release of information in real time, giving a full scope of surroundings
What is identification friend or foe (IFF)?
I am FF is a feature that allows the ship to interrogate air/surface contacts for friendly replies

Allows aircraft to locate ship and find its way back
What is in a fib assault directive system (AADS)?
A specific consul use to navigate and communicate to any of previous craft from ship to shore and vice versa.
What is the purpose of a mission control (EMCON)?
Limits radar signature
What is EMCON alpha?
Silent emissions
What is EMCON condition alpha one?
Modified alpha to accomplish the mission that is absolutely needed for a minimal time
