(32 cards)
How does light travel
In straight lines
What is the speed of light
3x10 to the power of 8
What does a convex lens correct
Longs sightedness
What does a concave lens corrects
Short sightedness
What is the order of the white light spectrum
Red
Orange
Yellow
Green
Blue
Indigo
Violet
What is the relationship between the angle of incidence and the angle of reflection
The angle of incidence = the angle of reflection
Does light travel faster or slower in a glass block
Slower
What does light do when it enters a glass block
Refracts
What way does the light refract as it enters the glass block
Towards
What can a gamma ray be used for
Sterilising surgical instruments
What can a uv ray be used for
Treating vitamin d deficiency
What effect does a convex lens has on light
A convex lens focuses a light inwards to a focal point
What effects does a concave lens have on light
A concave lens refracts the light out the way
What is the cornea
The cornea is a clear protective layer at the front of the eye that also refracts light
What is the iris
The iris is a coloured muscle that alters the size of the pupils which also controls how much light enters the eye
What does the lens do
The lens focuses light on the retina
What is the retina
The retina is a light sensitive layer that converts light into electrical impulses
What is the pupil
A hole at the front of your eye that allows light to enter the eye
What is the optic nerve
The optic nerve carries electrical messages form the eye to the brain
What is short sightedness
Short sightedness mean you have trouble seeing things from far away
What is long sightedness
Long sightedness is that you have trouble seeing things close up
Do radio waves have the shortest or longest wavelength
Longest wavelength
Does a gamma ray have the shortest or longest wavelength
Shortest wavelength
Does a gamma ray have the highest or lowest frequency?
Highest frequency
