23
Q

Horizontal Stab stalled and excessive load event

A

If pitch trim switches are engaged while HSA is stalled the PIT TRIM INOP….when stall ceases message will go away. If switches used more than 16 seconds while stalled the HSCU will turn off the main or backup and message will be permanent

25
Q

The pitch trim green band on EICAS has what range?

A

4 to 8 degrees, nose up

26
Q

How are ailerons controlled and moved?

A

Mechanically controlled, hydraulically actuated, which HYD 1 and 2

27
Q

Will ailerons work if you lose both HYD systems?

A

Yes

28
Q

Aileron Disconnect used…can it be reset in flight?

A

No, on ground only

29
Q

If ailerons disconnected can autopilot be used?

A

No

30
Q

Which side of aileron system has roll trim and feel unit?

A

Right

31
Q

How is roll trim performed

A

By changing the ailerons neutral position

32
Q

What does AIL SYS INOP mean?

A

Hydraulic power to Ailerons is out

33
Q

How many rudders are there?

A

2, forward and aft

34
Q

How are rudders controlled and actuated?

A

Mechanically controlled, hydraulically actuated

35
Q

The PCU (power control unit) controls rudder with how many actuators?

A

2, 1 for each hydraulic system

36
Q

How can rudder systems be shut off manually?

A

Buttons on overhead. 1 each for system 1 and 2

37
Q

How can rudder systems 1 and 2 be shut off automatically

A

With the speed switch and hard over protection

38
Q

With no hydraulics does rudder still work?

A

Yes, but it is sluggish and takes more force

39
Q

Both rudder systems work below what airspeed?

A

135…system 1 stops above 135 knots

40
Q

If rudder system 2 fails above 135?

A

System 1 takes over

41
Q

Rudder Hard Over Protection is?

A

Activates in case of runaway rudder…more than 5 degrees of deflection and both engines are above 56% N2 130 lbs of force on the rudder pedal

42
Q

Rudder defection limits?

A

15 DEGREES ON GROUND

43
Q

RUDDER OVERBOOST Means?

A

Both system active above 135 knots

44
Q

Gust lock protects what?

A

Elevator

45
Q

Gust lock works how?

A

Electric Pins at the elevator.

46
Q

Gust Lock light on glareshield means?

A

Gust lock in motion, or failure

47
Q

Flap control and actuation?

A

Electric

48
Q

How many flap motors?

A

2, both operate all with flexible shafts

49
Q

Can one motor operate all flaps?

A

Yes, at half speed

50
Q

If flap asymmetry is detected was happens?

A

Flaps are disabled

51
Q

Flap handle is in different position than flaps when airplane powered up…what will happen

A

Flaps don’t move until the handle is moved

52
Q

How many spoilers?

A

2 each wing…the outer panels are the speed brakes in flight

53
Q

When will ground spoilers deploy?

A

WOW, wheel speed > 25 knots, and thrust idle

54
Q

Will pitch trim be auto with auto pilot off and speed brakes deployed?

A

Yes.

55
Q

To open speed brakes…

A

Thrust lever below 50 degrees and flaps 0 or 9
