from Rotor Engage to Rotor Disengage, and provided the aircraft in flown within the period.
for HFCC, the handover time occurs when the first pilot of the takeover crew is strapped into a pilot seat
The wind chill outside is between 0 to -27
Normal Ops, no restriction, crew shall carry cold weather gear onboard the aircraft. ground crew shall wear appropriate jacket, gloves, footwear and long underwear
The windchill is -28 to -35
Restricted Ops, No slinging or hoisting, Aircrew shall carry cold weather gear onboard the aircraft.
Ground crew shall wear cold weather jacket and hood, pants, gloves, appropriate footwear and long underwear. The marshaller shall ensure that ground crew are dressed adequately.

Essential Ops and SAR only, WComd authorization, Aircrew shall carry cold weather gear onboard the aircraft.
Ground crew shall wear cold weather jacket and hood, pants, gloves, appropriate footwear and long underwear. The marshaller shall ensure that ground crew are dressed adequately.
what are the Water temps, Air temps and corresponding Launch time requirements for SAR backup
Water Temp Air Temp Launch Time
5 to 13 oC >-5 oC < 2 hrs
-2 to 5 oC >-12 oC < 30 min
who may cancel a scheduled flight and why?
Scheduled flights may be cancelled under the following conditions:
when, at briefing time, an Aircraft Captain determines that the weather is not suitable for any type of flying;
when the CO, DCO, or Ops O determines that the weather will not be suitable for further flying operations that day or evening; and
by the Ops O under extenuating circumstances, such as excessive delays due to aircraft unserviceability.
What are the Remote fuel requirements?
For planning purposes IAW Ref I, CH-124 aircraft shall plan to arrive overhead a Remote Destination with a minimum of 2100 lbs of fuel as follows:
2 hours holding at nominal Fuel Flow of 900 lbs/hr; and
300 lbs minimum landing.
What lateral clearance from ships must be observed (with CZ, without CZ, exceptions?)
Flight operations within a ship’s control zone, other than approach and departure for take-off, landing, or deck evolutions, shall remain a minimum of 200 ft from the ship.
Crews should normally not approach vessels without promulgated control zones closer than ½ nm except when required for operational or training requirements (i.e., practice approaches, MIO, etc.).
In these cases, crews shall remain a minimum of 200 ft from the vessel unless in the discretion of the MHCC it is essential in order to complete the mission and can be done in a safe manner.
Close fly-bys of any ships (a.k.a., “buzzing” or “blow-bys”) are not authorized.
Although IFC is defined as flight conditions in which control of the aircraft is maintained solely by reference to aircraft flight instruments, the nature of MH operations requires an expanded definition. In summary, IFC for MH operations includes:
all over-water night operations below 500 feet ASL;
all over-water operations without a discernible horizon; and
all flights in Instrument Meteorological Conditions (IMC).
Who has the authority to waive the dual layer requirement?
CO or Det Commander at sea

HEELS. For the purposes of this order, “unserviceable HEELS” refers to 2 or 3 installations. For over water flights, the following restriction apply:
DAY. Flight with an unserviceable HEELS may be conducted above Safe Single Engine Speed (SSES), at the discretion of the Aircraft Captain, with due consideration for the mission and environmental conditions. Flight below SSES is not authorized; and
NIGHT. Flight with unserviceable HEELS, in any flight regime, is not authorized.
Note: If only one of the three HEELS installations is unserviceable, night operations and flights below SSES conducted at the Aircraft Captain’s discretion.
How many Pax can we carry?
Over land?
Over water?
Is there anything we can do to increase the number?
When carrying passengers over water, the maximum number of passengers is six if any of them are not EBS/RUET qualified. If greater than six passengers need to be carried over water, both aft cabin crew and passengers must complete SCF EBS/RUET training IAW 12 Wing Order 3.1.1.1. For flights over land, the number of passengers is limited to the number of seats available.
