What are you setting/checking?
- Verifying the NAV Database currency.
- Initialize the FMS position on both FMSs.
- Check all the electronic circuit breakers are in or MEL’d.
DVDR Control Panel … TESTED
What are you checking for when you press the test button?
Honeywell DVDR: Press the DVDR Test button and verify no fail messages displayed on EICAS.
Universal DVDR: Press and hold the TEST for 2 seconds. Verify no fail messages displayed on EICAS and observe the following test results:
The FDR 1 and CVR 1 PASS/FAIL lights flash for 10 seconds. After 10 seconds the FDR 1 and CVR 1 PASS/FAIL lights illuminate steady green, indicating the completion of a successful test.
After DVDR 1 test finishes, the DVDR 2 test will automatically start. Verify the following results:

AUTO – closes the IDG contactor and allows the automatic operation of the electrical system.

OFF – opens the IDG contactor isolating the IDG from the respective AC BUS.

DISC – must be held in this position for one second to mechanically disconnect the IDG.

No
What indication would you get with an IDG low oil pressure or high oil temperature?
An amber LED next to the associated IDG switch and an associated EICAS IDG 1 (2) oil illuminates.

AUTO – allows automatic operation of the electrical system.
1(2) OPEN – isolates the respective AC BUS.

Off: The battery supplies power to the HOT BATT BUS.

AUTO: Allows automatic operation of the electrical system.
OFF: Opens all BUSS TIE contactors.

It opens the Crossfeed valve and automatically activates the right AC fuel pump
(AC PUMP 2), supplying fuel from the right wing tank to both engines.

It provides pressurized fuel for normal APU operation and engine start, when AC power or the AC fuel pump is not available.
