Causes of bilious vomiting in neonates

A

Surgical causes/ obstruction= marotation with midgut volvulus, duodenal atresia, jejunal/ileal atresia, annular pancreas, hirschprung disease, meconium ileus
Inflammatory/ infectious- NEC, severe gastroenteriris, sepsis

Causes of non- bilious vomiting in neonates

A

Physiological/ benign- GER, overfeeding, swallowing air
Obstructive- pyloric stenosis, gastric outlet obstruction, esophageal atresia
Neurologic - Intraventricular hemorrhage, hydrocephalus, CNS malformations
Inf- sepsis, meningitis, UTI
Metabolic- inborn errors of metabolism, CAH, cong hypothyroidism
Others- drug withdrawl, milk protein allergy
