Q

What happens during Filtration in the nephrons?

A
  • The liquid part of the blood is forced out of the glomerulus and into the Bowman’s capsule at high pressure.
  • Bigger molecules (e.g. proteins) and blood cells can’t pass through.

Q

What happens during the selective reabsorption in the nephrons?

A
  • All glucose is selectively reabsorbed: it’s moved back into the blood against a concentration gradient.
  • Sufficient ions are reabsorbed.
  • Sufficient water is reabsorbed.
