Talk me through the request stop procedure

A

Well before the station, identify any customers wanting to leave the train and where using announcements and revenue checks
As train approaches station, driver sounds horn to alarm potential customers on platform of arrival
If driver sees no customers on platform he will give ready to start signal
If none want to leave, give this back and train will continue without stopping
If customers want to leave; do not repeat this back

Talk me through the long train short platform procedure

A

Make an announcement to customers, Energise DKS and wait for the train to stop
Open local door and step onto platform and check rest of the train is accommodated- DO NOT FULL RELEASE
Close door panel
Walk down the train and open the doors manually using the external hazard clips (butterfly)
When at the front of the train, wait for a proceed aspect before you walk back down the train and close the external clips when safe to do so
Once back at your local door, carry out train safety check close your local door and give driver ready to go signal
They will repeat back and stay at your local door until you clear the platform to check for any unsafe activity
De-energise DKS and lock panel

A

Passcoms and rear/intermediate cab brake handles will not work, only operative brake handle will be in drivers cab.

Reach clear understanding with driver as to how they will stop the train in an emergency
Inform customers that if they need to stop the train they must contact conductor
Consistently patrol the train

The train can move with the door open, if the door comes open in traffic the train might not stop and the bell buzzer may not work

Physically check all doors on both side to make sure they’re closed and secure

Enter front cab and turn off saloon lights
Ensure front cab windows are closed and laughs off
Exit train via crew door
Close the crew door behind you

Assess the fire and try and put this out.
