Danish oil

A

clear, colour tints

apply with lint free cloth, rub the oil into surface in direction of grain.

-leave wood for 5min rub away excess with cloth
sand or rub with wire wool to open up

  • not a hardwearing finish builds up a matt, water-resistant finish

Teak oil

A

clear tint only

  • apply with lint free cloth, rub oil into surface of wood direction of grain.
    leave for 5 mins then rub away with clean cloth
    -used for naturally oily woods
  • outdoor woods use weather resistant and to fungal and insect attack
    aesthetically pleasing

pressure treating

A

wood is placed in pressure vessel containing solution of copper sulphate.
vacuum and pressure controlled to force the preservative into fibres of wood is steam dries

-helps protect wood for up to 50 years to rot, insect, fungal attack and weathering
