You will investigate waves in water using a ripple tank to measure:
1. Wavelength
2. Frequency
3. Speed of water waves

A
- Set up the ripple tank with water, a vibrating bar, and a power source.
- Place a white paper or screen underneath to see wave shadows clearly.
- Turn on the vibrating motor to make continuous waves on the water surface.
- Use a strobe light and adjust it until the waves appear still (freezing motion).
- Measure the distance across 10 waves using a ruler.
- Divide this distance by 10 to get one wavelength (λ).
- Count how many waves pass a point in 10 seconds and divide by 10 for frequency (f).
