What is the relation between the abdominal cavity and peritoneum?
It contains th peritoneal cavity and the retroperitoneal space
What does the dorsal mesentery suspend?
What does it form?
Suspends the intestine along the abdominal wall. (makes sense since the intestine is down)
Forms: Greater omentum, transverse and sigmoid mesocolon, mesentery proper
What does the ventral mesentery divide on?
lesser omentum and falciform ligament
List the intraperotneal organs?
Cecum, Gallbladder ,Uterus

Inferiorly: 1st part of the duodenum

Supine: Hepatorenal recces (morisons pouch)
Upright: Rectouterine or Rectovesical pouch (Dougals pouch)
What is peronitis? What are its symptoms?
it is the inflamamtion of the peritonium
Symptoms: Spasm of the anterolateral abdomen
High body temp (39-40)
Lecocytosis
What is Ascites?
Abdormal accmulation of abnormal fluid inside the peritonium
What is done to treat ascites?
Where is it done?
Paracentsis
It is done: Linea alba under the umblicus
What does the portal triad consist of?
VAD
