ἐς ποταμὸν πλυνέουσα, τά μοι ῥερυπωμένα κεῖται;

“Dear Papa, would you not indeed fit out for me a tall, well-wheeled wagon, so that I may take my splendid clothes, which are lying dirty around me, to the river to wash them? It is fitting for you yourself, when you are with the chiefs, to discuss your plans wearing clean clothes on your body. I remind you that five of your dear sons are in the palace, two married, and three youthful bachelors who always want to go to dances wearing newly washed clothes. These things are a concern in my mind.” Thus she spoke; for she was embarrassed to mention youthful marriage to her dear father. But he understood completely and answered: “ I don’t grudge you the mules, my child, or anything else. Go; let the slaves fit out a high, well-wheeled wagon for you, fitted with a canopy.”
