What is Adultery?
Voluntary sexual intercourse between a married person and someone who is not their spouse (husband or wife)
What is Age of Consent?
According to the law, the age at which a person is considered old enough to give consent to have sex
What is Annulment?
A Catholic Church ruling that a marriage was never valid
What is Bigamy?
The offence of marrying someone while already married to another woman person
What is Celibacy?
Not having sexual relations
What is Chastity?
Sexual purity, e.g. not having sex before marriage
What is Civil Marriage?
Non-religious marriage
What is Civil Partnership?
Legal union of same-sex couples
What is Cohabitation?
A couple of living together and having a sexual relationship without being married to / in a civil partnership with one another
What is a Commitment?
Making a promise or pledge, in this case, in marriage
What is Contraception?
The methods used to prevent pregnancy and to protect against contracting/transmitting STI’s
What is a Contract?
A binding agreement between two sides
What is a Covenant?
An agreement based on promises between both sides, here in marriage where the agreement is made before God and with God
What is Divorce?
The legal ending of a marriage
What is Educating Children in a Faith?
Bringing up children according to the religious beliefs of the parents
What is Extended Family?
A family that extends beyond just parents and their children by including grandparents and other relatives as well
