This is because he healed a paralized man and only God was aloud to do this as it is a form of work and it was the sabath so Jews wern’t meant to work on the sabbath. He also worked on the Sabbath the Jewish leaders called this Blasphemy.

The people lay out their cloaks for him making a red carpet and would swing palm leaves. The people would also start praising Jesus.
