Value of a Country. Goods produced, money earned.
Define GDP per Capita
Money produced per average person. Makes a more accurate judgement of the value of a country’s citizens.
Define Population Below Poverty Line
Sets a Poverty Line of a certain amount of earning based on average income. If a citizen makes less than the poverty line, they are considered in-poverty
Define Birth Rate
Annual Births per year, for every 1,000 People in the population.
Define Life Expectancy
Average Person’s years expected to live in the current year.

Define Infant Mortality Rate
of deaths of infants under a year old, for every 1,000 infants lived.
Define Population Growth Rate
Percentage of change in population.
Define Literacy Rate
Percentage of People who can read and write by a certain age, usually 18/16.
Define Poverty Rate
Percentage of People under the poverty line.
Define Human Development Index (HDI)
Quality of Life. Takes account/percentage of Income, Education, Life expectancy, and merges them into one. (Unsure).
What can statistics tell us about the people who live in a region?
People with a low literacy may have a region with little education. Poverty line is a huge impact of the amount of people who work and can get jobs.
How can we use statistics to compare regions?
The poverty line and HDI can change perception of a region and favor it. Keep in mind it is a number and not a judgement of the people as a whole.
