What is a social admission?
If a patient is unable to cope at home but does not need any medical treatment, this is known as a social admission. This is better than sending an elderly frail patient away.

This is a major threat to public health. Patients with TB can be discharged early, if they are able to take their treatment correctly, and have their treatment monitored. However, in this case, the patient is homeless and has issues with compliance with medications
