A

The Future Tense is used for actions that will happen in the future.

Eg. Sam will visit us next week.

Rules for forming the PAST TENSE?

A

Forming the Past Tense:

  1. By adding ‘d’ to the root word.
  2. By adding ‘ed’ to the root word.
  3. By changing ‘y’ to ‘i’ and adding ‘ed’ to the root word.
  4. By adding ‘ed’ to the present tense that ends with ‘y’. Note: If there is a vowel before the ‘y’ ‘ed’ is added.
  5. By doubling the last letter and adding ‘ed’ to the present tense that ends with a vowel followed a consonant.
  6. Some verbs remain unchanged in the past tense.
  7. Some Verbs are irregular which means they do not follow any particular pattern to form the past tense.
