what does prodromal mean
vague nonspecific symptoms before the onset of specific symptoms
what does insidious mean
vague or nonspecific feelings , may not notice symptoms comes on very slowly -unnoticeable at first
what does latent mean
no symptoms are present but disease is present
what does predisposing factor mean
risk factor - increase probability of disease occurrence
what does precipitating factor mean
condition that does cause disease - trigger
what does morbidity mean
condition of being diseased
what does comorbidity mean
multiple disorders occurring at the same time

related to risk of death -2% of those that are infected with COVID 19 will pass away from COVID 19

a group of symptoms that may be caused by interrelated problems occurring together characterizing a specific disease - irritable bowel syndrome

abnormality of function, irregularity, disturbance -autism spectrum disorder-personality disorders
what does epidemiology mean
study of tracking patterns or disease occurrence- cornerstone of public health -incidence, distribution, &possible control of diseases
what does remission mean
symptoms disappear or diminish
what does exacerbation mean
symptoms reappear or become more severe
what does complication mean
onset of a disease in a person who is already coping with another disease
what does sequelae mean
unwanted outcome from a disease - which occurs after initial acute phase of the disease weeks or months later but they are the result pop the initial illness
pathogenesis how is it developed
virus travels down the respiratory tract where the larger immune response is triggered
what does intrinsic mean
pathological or disease causing change that has occurred from inside the body has occurred as a result of intrinsic factors
