A

trauma? - trauma pathway

A

advise analgesia, good OH and avoid smoking

If pain in face, is there visual disturbance or temporal arteritis? Yes = emergency, no = urgent dental care

What if pain is in the mouth?

A

If related to orthodontic appliance, advise analgesia, chlorhexadine mouthwash and wax to sharp areas.

If related to ulcer then ulcer pathway

If no ulcer, advise analgesia and avoid stimuli

is it in erupting tooth?

If yes and ADULT, advise chlorhexadine, analgesia and if infections consider prescription

IF CHILD, an Analgesia, soft food and brushing after food.
