Digital Citizen
Someone who is safe, responsible, and respectful when using technology or the internet.
Cyber/digital
Something that is cyber/digital is relating to computers or technology.
Digital footprints
The trail we leave behind every time we use or post to the internet which is truly never deleted or erased. It can be what others post about us, too.
Scam
A scam is tricking someone to steal personal information or money.
Identity theft
A crime in which your information is stolen and used for criminal activity.
Phishing
Phishing is sending phony emails, messages, or links in hopes of obtaining personal information/money.
Phishing scam features
“Too good to be true” sense of urgency, typos, asking to verify account information, unknown sender, suspicious links, asking for personal information, and a generic greeting.
Clickjacking
Clicking on a seemingly harmless link, but being redirected to an infected website, phishing site, or online scam.
Online predator
Internet users (often adults acting as children) who are dangerous to a child online and mask their identity.
Cyberbullying
The use of electronic communication to bully a person, typically by sending messages with intimidating or threatening nature. This can be through social media, texting, and much more.
Bully
Someone who is a bully is someone who repeatedly abuses, harasess, or intimidates another person.
Victim
The victim is the person who faces the abuse, harassment, or intimidation of a bully.
Empathy
To have empathy is to imagine the feeling that someone else is experiencing.
