Carbidopa/Levodopa
-Iron decreases absorption (space by 2 hrs)
-Vitamin C increases absorption (good)
-Food delays gastric emptying (avoid high fat meals)
COMT inhibitors
-Entacapone: 1A2, 2A6, 2C9, 2C19, 2D6, 2E1, 3A4
-non-selective MAOis - tranylcypromide, phenelzine (hypertensive crisis or serotonin syndrome)
-selective MAOIs are safe (selegiline and rasagiline)
MAO-B inhibitors
-Rasa: met 1A2
-Sele: met 2B6, 2C19
-narcotics/analgesics
-antidepressants - mirtazapine, st. johns wort
-muscle relaxants - cyclobenzaprine
-cough suppressants - dextromethorphan
-decongestants - pseudoephedrine
-other MAOis (contraindicated) - linezolid

-antibiotics
-antidepressants - fluvoxamine
-epilepsy drugs - carbamazepine, phenobarbital
-smoking
Pramiprexole
-ulcer treatment - cimetidine, ranitidine
-heart meds - diltiazem, verapamil
Anticholinergic agents
-sedating agents
-GI motility reducing agents
hypertensive crisis can be caused if taken with:
-antihistamines
-anti-seizure drugs
-sleep or anxiety meds
-muscle relaxants
-narcotic pain relievers containing codeine
Amantadine
-meds for congestion, narcolepsy, ADHD
-increases anti-arrhythmic drug effects
-increased by high BP meds
-do not take live influenza vaccine within 2 weeks before or within 48 hrs after taking amantadine
