What is the OEM?
Original Equipment Manufacturer
What does the OEM do?
RN will use OEM sometimes to carry out repairs, often major repairs as they have superior system knowledge. OEM attendance/advice is organised by the MSSP and sometimes the COM (Class Output Manager)
What is UMMS used for?
- Management of maintenance
- Management of concessions
- Reporting, recording, and management of defects
- Management and administration of unprogrammed, FTSP, supplementary, and Non FTSP work packages.
- Provide a consolidated hierarchy of ship fitted equipment and associated configuration
information - Interface to mimic CBM system to allow reporting of defects and capture running hours/start, stop
- Interface with MIDI to allow users to interrogate requisition from and place demands upon ships stores.
- Simplify administration of standard naval engineering reports-WRF, S2022, $2012 ETC
- Enable design authorities to review the effectiveness of the RCM schedules and make
changes where necessary
OPDEF categories

B. Major Capability Significantly Degraded
C. All Other Opdef’s

- Rectification required ASAP to meet Future Commitments or programme - repair pursued

Whatvis the man below board?
The manbellow board is to allow the DSMESR or MEOOW1 to see what manpower is currently in spaces deemed as dangerous to life such as MMS, AMS and HV compartments. In the event of an incident they can instantly see all manpower down spaces including those members on watch. This is important as if an incident occurs in the same space the personnel that are pegged into the space could be potential casualties which under state 3 are considered the highest priority.
