What is Speed?
The ability to perform actions or cover distance quickly.
Ex: Running..
What are the Skill-Related Fitness Components?
Speed, Power, Agility, Balance, Coordination, and Reaction Time
What is Agility?
The Ability to quickly change direction without losing speed or power.
Ex: Side Shuffle, playing soccer, etc…
What is Balance?
The ability to stabilize the body both in movement and when maintaining stillness.
Ex: Riding a bicycle, riding a skateboard, skating without falling, etc..
What is Coordination?
The ability to use your senses in combination with you actions when in movement.
Ex: Hand-eye, Eye-Hand-Foot..
What is Power?
The ability to combine both speed and force in movements and actions.
Ex: Punching, Kicking, etc..
What are the Health-Related Fitness components?
Cardiovascular Endurance, Muscular Endurance, Muscular Strength, Flexibility, and Body Composition.
What is Muscular Endurance?
Your muscles’ ability to exert force repeatedly or for an extended period of time.
Ex: Pushups, Planks, Sit-Ups, etc…
What is Cardiovascular Endurance?
Your body’s ability to deliver oxygen to working muscles during exercise.
Ex: Running, Walking, Swimming, etc…
What is Muscular Strength?
Your muscles ability to exert a maximum amount of force in one effort.
Ex: A punch, kick, pushing/carrying something heavy, etc…
What is Flexibilty?
Your muscles and joints’ ability to move through their full range of motion.
Ex: Splits, Yoga, etc..
What is Body Composition?
Your body’s ratio of lean muscle to stored fat.
