What are the field boundaries in Speedball?
Fields go from the soccer goal line to the 20 yard line, 20 yard line to the 50 yard line, 50 yard line to the 20 yard line, and lastly, the 20 yard line to the soccer goal line.
What is the ‘King/Queen’ field in Speedball?
The southernmost field is the ‘King/Queen’ field. If your team wins, you rotate ‘up’ (south), and if your team loses, you rotate ‘down’ (north).
How does a game of Speedball start?
The first game starts with a whistle. Subsequent games start once both teams are ready.
What are the options to start the game in Speedball?
You may either throw the ball, drop kick (punt) the ball, or have someone hold it while you kick it off the ground.
Can the receiving team lose possession on a throw/kick off?
No, the team receiving the ball cannot lose possession of the ball on a throw/kick off.
What happens when a player gains possession of the ball?
The player runs until he/she is either tagged (one hand tag) or runs out of bounds.
What must a player do when tagged or running out of bounds?
They must stop and then throw the ball to one of their teammates.
What happens if a player runs out of bounds?
They do not lose possession of the ball; they must go back to where they ran out and throw the ball inbounds.
What occurs if a ball is dropped?
Whichever team touched the ball last before it hit the ground, the ball then goes to the opposite team.
What should a team do once they have possession of the ball on the ground?
They should pick it up and immediately begin running.
How is a tag made in Speedball?
To tag a person, we use one hand and one hand only; no shoving and definitely no tackling.
What happens when a team scores a point?
The team that scored then kicks or throws out of the endzone they scored in.
What should the scoring team do after scoring a point?
They should wait until the other team walks back and call something out to let the other team know a ball is coming their way.
What are the endzone boundaries in Speedball?
The endzones go from the football sidelines (white line) to the soccer sidelines (yellow line).
What happens if the offensive team drops the ball in their endzone?
The defensive team who gains possession can run it out of the endzone.
What occurs if a defensive player touches the ball last in the endzone?
An offensive player cannot simply pick the ball up for a point; the ball gets brought out to the numbers where it needs to be thrown to begin.
How is a tie resolved at the end of a game?
Rock-Paper-Scissors will be played (best out of ONE) to determine which team rotates up and which team rotates down.
