What is justice?
Fairness for all people
What is the Just War Theory?
A set of conditions under which it is justified to go to war
What is a Holy War?
Fighting for a religious cause or God, probably controlled by a leader
What is Pacifism?
The belief in people who refuse to take part in war and any other form of violence
What is terrorism?
The unlawful use of violence, usually against innocent civilians, in order to achieve a political goal
What are Weapons of Mass Destruction?
Weapons that can kill large numbers of people and/or cause great damage
What is radicalisation?
The process of causing someone to hold extreme views on religious or political issues they are unwilling to see alternative views
What is torture?
Any act by which severe pain and suffering, whether physical or mental, is intentionally inflicted on a person by a public official
What is a nuclear weapon?
Weapons that work by creating a nuclear reaction in order to devastate huge areas and kill large numbers
What are chemical weapons?
Weapons that use chemicals to harm humans and destroy the natural environment
What are biological weapons?
Weapons that use living organisms to cause disease or death
What is reconciliation?
The restoring of harming after a relationship has broken down
What is forgiveness?
Pardoning someone for something they have done wrong
What is righteous anger?
Anger against an injustice
What is peace-making?
The action of trying to establish peace
What is conflict resolution?
Creating peace between two parties that have been at war or in a dispute with each other
What is non-violent resistance?
Resisting a government without using violence, for example through peaceful protest or non-liberation

What is a conscientious objector?
a person who for reasons of conscience objects to complying with a particular requirement, especially serving in the armed forces.
What is martyrdom?
the suffering or death of a martyr (a person who suffers or dies because of their beliefs)
What is bullying?
the deliberate intimidation of a person through words or physical actions
Who are Quakers?
A religious group founded in the 17th century; instead of celebrating the Eucharist they gather together for prayer and wait to be inspired by the Holy Spirit
