Ductus venosis

A

Oxygenated blood from mom directly to the inferior vena cava bypassing the liver. Becomes ligamentum venosus

Ductus arteriosis

A

Shunts blood from the pulmonary artery bypassing the lungs into the descending aorta. Stays open because the Pao2(partial pressure of O2 in arterial blood) is low.
after birth, 2-3 weeks, becomes ligamentum arteriosum.
