16
Q

Two Types of Tarsal Coalition? (Pes planus -rigid)

A

i) talus to the calcaneous
ii) calcaneus to the navicular

17
Q

Talocalcaneal Coalition:

A
  • Occurs at the middle facet.
  • “Continuous C-sign ” produced from an
    “absent middlefacet”
    on the lateral view.
  • Talar beak (spur on the anterior talus - white arrow) - seen in 25% of cases.
18
Q

Calcaneonavicular Coalition:

A
  • Occurs at the anterior facet.
  • Has the “anteater sign ”

Where the elongated anterior process of the
calcaneus resembles the blood thirsty nose of a ravenous ant eater.
This is best seen on an oblique view.

19
Q

“rocker-bottomfoot”

A

Vertical Talus (equinus hindfoot valgus)

20
Q

talus is in extreme plantar flexion with dorsal dislocation of the Navicular - resulting in a locked talus in plantar flexion.

A

Vertical Talus (equinus hindfoot valgus)

21
Q
A

Vertical Talus (equinus hindfoot valgus)

22
Q

this is often associated with myelomeningocele.

A

Vertical Talus (equinus hindfoot valgus)

23
Q

Congenital Plantar Flexed Ankle Forefoot.

A

Club Foot (Talipes Equino Varus)

24
Q
  • Flindfoot varus (decreased talocalcaneal angle)
  • Medial deviation and inversion of the forefoot
  • Elevated Plantar Arch
A

Club Foot (Talipes Equino Varus)

25
Q

The most common surgical complication of Club Foot (Talipes Equino Varus)

A

over correction resulting in a “rocker bottom” flat foot deformity.
