autosomal recessive
Autosomal Recessive: A pattern of inheritance in which an affected individual has two unaffected parents; the trait often skips generations.
autosomal dominant
Autosomal Dominant: A pattern of inheritance in which an affected individual has at least one affected parent; the trait appears in every generation.
X-Linked Dominant
X-Linked Dominant: A pattern of inheritance in which an affected male passes the trait to all his daughters but none of his sons; affected females pass the trait to half their children.

X-Linked Recessive: A pattern of inheritance in which affected males inherit the trait from their mothers, and affected females must inherit the trait from both parents; the trait often skips generations.
