After they were released they were taken by the KKK and were shot, killed, and buried by them.

Jimmie Lee Jackson?

A

Black civil rights activist who worked as a hospital aid who tried to protect a family member and was shot by a white policeman.
He was taken to a white hospital where he was refused so they took him to a black hospital, but he had died by then.
His death sparked Bloody Sunday march.
