Classification of seizures
Generalized: Tonic clonic (gran mal) or absence (petit mal)
Partial: simple (focal motor activity, not AMS) or complex (focal motor activity with AMS)
Status epilipticus: cotinuous or recurring seizures
Seizure causes by age
First day: hypoxia
First month: infection
6 mo to yr: febrile, toxic ingestion
Older than 3: chronic causes

Only supportive care
Not life threatening
Usually short with no brain damage
