What do you use the perfect tense for?

A

Describes a single completed action in the immediate past, one which has just or recently happened, or which is still relevant to the ongoing situation
E.g. ¿Has oído su nuevo CD? - Have you heard their new CD?
Estoy de mal humor porque mi professor me ha castigado - I’m in a bad mood because my teacher (has) told me off

How do you form the perfect tense?

A

The present tense of the auxiliary verb haber (he, has, ha, hemos, habéis, han) + the past participle
AR - - ado e.g. escuchado
ER,IR - -ido e.g. salido
E.g.g está region ha cambiado mucho - this region has changed a lot

A

Abrir, cubrir, descubrir, decir, hacer, satisfacer, volver, devolver, escribir, describir, morir, poner, ver
Abierto, cubierto, descubierto, dicho, hecho, satisfecho, vuelto, devuelto, escrito, descrito, muerto, puesto, visto
Reflexive pronouns and object pronouns always go before the part of haber
Se ha acostado - he has gone to bed
No lo hemos visto - We haven’t seen him

I have just (+verb) - use the verb acabar in the present tense followed by de + infinitive
