dx pericarditis

A

diagnosed by the presence of at least 2 of the following criteria:

pericarditic chest pain
pericardial rubs
new widespread ST elevation or PR depression on electrocardiogram (ECG)
pericardial effusion (new or worsening).

other: increased crp, esr, wcc or vidence of pericardial inflammation on imaging

A

high fever—more than 38oC
subacute course—symptoms developing over several days without a clear acute onset
large pericardial effusion
cardiac tamponade
failure to respond within 7 days to drug therapy.
