what are the challenges of supportive perio? (3)

  • Is never cured it’s just managed – can always reoccur especially if not fully resolved.
  • Poor compliance
  • No direct way of diagnosing the disease just have to use probing depths, bleeding, attachment measures.

how can we resolve exposed roots/black triangles from gingival recession? (4)

A

Crown lengthening

Replace the crowns

Gingival graft (no papilla and no bone = failed graft)

Gingival veneer – possibility of root caries if not used and cleaned properly. Must inform them of this risk and monitor them.
