1
Q

What is a persona?

A

your persona is an end user
who best exemplifies the end user profile. Think of the persona as that one customer who, if you won,
you would get everybody else in the target customer profile. The persona should be a real person,
not a composite, not an abstract.
It should be someone you know and you have interviewed
in the context of your startup and you can remember.

Q

Why do you need a persona when you have an end user profile?

A

Your end user profile tells you who your end users are,
but your persona makes your target end user
tangible, unambiguous, and concrete.
It is much easier to focus your mind on one person, then
many people all at once.
if you build a good persona, your team and you
will be able to see your customer very, very clearly,
and the results will create better alignment
amongst all the people on your team.

Q

How do you create a persona?

A

Choose your persona and create a fact sheet (include visual stuff as much as possible). You typically want to include general demographic information about your persona.
When were they born?
Where were they raised? …
Most importantly, you want to list not just the persona’s
qualities but they’re purchasing criteria in prioritized order.
These are the priorities that will dictate the purchasing
decision for your product or a similar product.

Q

How do you use the persona?

A

The persona should become a key guiding light for you
in your decision making process.
What features do you prioritize?
What features do you drop?
How should you allocate your critical resources?
Also use the persona to deselect certain customers.
