Explain how the speed of the motor can be controlled
A
The speed of the motor depends on the size of the current input. The more resistors in the circuit, reduces current size thus reducing the speed of motor.
Switches closed, the resistors do not impede current flow so the motor has maximum speed.
With all switches open maximum resistance occurs and minimum current flows which reduces motor speed to a minimum
