what is paranoid personality
pervasive distrust and suspiciousness of others. blame their own problems on others and seem angry and hostile. they have serious jealously issues and often think their significant others are cheating on them.
what are the diagnostics for paranoid personality
four of the following:
suspicion that other are exploiting them or decieving them.
preoccupation with doubts of loyalty or trustworthiness
reluctance to confide in others
benign remarks are thought threatening
persistence of grudges
perceives people as attacking them and they are quick to counterattack.
suspicious of fidelity of others.
what is schizoid personality
lifelong pattern of social withdrawal. eccentric or reclusive. quiet and unsociable. they have a restricted affect. no desire for interpersonal relationships.
voluntary social withdrawal with a restricted range of emotional expression
what are the criteria for schizoid
four of the following
neither enjoying or desiring social relationship
generally choosing solitary activities
little or any interest in sexual activity
takes pleasure with few activities
few close friends
indifference to praise or criticism
emotional coldness detachment or flattened affect
what is schizotypal
pervasive pattern of eccentric personality and peculiar thought patterns. strange and odd. cognitive or perceptual distortion, discomfort with close relationships.
what are the criteria for schizotypal
five or more: ideas of reference odd beliefs or magical thinking unusual perceptual experiences suspicious inappropriate or restricted affect odd or eccentric appearance or behavior few close friends or confidants odd thinking or speech excessive social anxiety
what is antisocial personality
exploitative of others and will break the rules to meet their own needs. they lack empathy, compassion, and remorse for their actions. they are impulsive, deceitful and will break the law. they are good at reading social cues and come across as charming. there is a pattern of disregard for and violation of the rights of others since the age of 15.

what are the criteria for antisocial personality
failure to conform to social norms by breaking the law.
deceitful, with repeated lying and manipulating for personal gain
impulsivity and failure to plan ahead.
irritability, aggressiveness, repeated fights and or assaults.
recklessness and disregard of the safety of self and others.
irresponsibility or failure to sustain work or financial obligations.
lack of remorse.
borderline personality
unstable moods, behaviors and relationships. fear abandonment and have poorly formed identity, relationships begin as intense attachment and end with the slightest conflict. aggression is common. they are impulsive, possibly with a history of suicide attempts or self-mutilation.
what are the criteria for borderline
five of the following:
frantic efforts to avoid imagined or real abandonment.
unstable, intense personal relationships.
unstable self image
impulsivity in at least two ways: spending, sexual activity, substance use, binge eating
recurrent suicidal attempts or self-mutilation.
unstable mood or affect.
chronic feelings of emptiness
difficulty controlling anger
transient stress related paranoid ideation or dissociative symptoms.
what is histrionic
exhibit attention seeking behavior and excessive emotionality. they are dramatic, flamboyant, and extroverted. they are unable to form long-lasting meaningful relationships. often sexually inappropriate and provocative. history of excessive emotionality and attention seeking.
what are the criteria of histrionic
at least five
uncomfortable when not the center of attention
inappropriately seductive or provocative
rapidly shifting but shallow expression of emotion.
uses physical appearance to draw attention
speech is impassionate and lacking detail
theatrical or exaggerated expression of emotion.
easily influenced by others or the situation
perceives relationships as more intense than they actually are.
what is narcissistic personality
sense of superiority and need for admiration and a lack of empathy beginning in early adulthood.
what is the criteria for narcissistic

exaggerated sense of self importance
preoccupied with fantasies of unlimited money, success or brilliance
belief that they are special or unique and can associate with higher status individuals.
requires excessive admiration.
has sense of entitlement
takes advantage of others for self gain

envious of others or believes that others are envious of them.

what is avoidant personality
pervasive pattern of social inhibition and an intense fear of rejection. this is so overwhelming that it affects all aspects of their lives. they avoid social interactions, although they want them but are extremely shy and easily hurt.

avoids occupations that involve the public.
unwillingness to interact unless certain of acceptance.
cautious of interpersonal relationships
preoccupied with being criticized or rejected
inhibited in social interactions because of inadequacies.
belief that they are socially inept or inferior.
reluctant to engage in new activities
dependent personality
poor self confidence and fear of separation.
excess need for others to take care of them. they feel helpless when they are left alone. they often will have submissive and clinging behaviors.

at least five
difficulty making everyday decisions without the reassurance of others.
needs others to assume responsibilities for most areas of their lives
difficulty expressing disagreement due to a fear of disapproval
difficulty initiating projects due to lack of self-confidence.
goes to excess lengths to get the approval of other. feels helpless when alone
urgently seeks another relationship when one ends
preoccupied with fears of being left alone.
what is obsessive compulsive disorder
perfectionist, inflexibility, and orderliness. unable to complete simple tasks due to preoccupation with unimportant details. stiff, serious, formal and constricted affect.
what are the criteria for obsessive compulsive
at least four
preoccupation with details, rules, lists, and organization such that the major point is lost.
perfectionism that is detrimental to the completeion of the task.
excessive devotion to work
excessive contentiousness and scrupulousness about morals and ethics.
Will not delegate tasks.
unable to discard worthless items.
