Q

What is the social learning theory?

A

Suggest that behaviour is learned through interaction with the environment and those around us.
Perosnalities are shaped by those around and us and we are likely to adopt the same personality and role models

17
Q

What’s the relationship between innate predispositions and the social learning theory?

A

Personality is not predicted by innate characteristics.
May explain why twins can be completely different

18
Q

What is the interactionist theory?

A

The interactionist theory explores how an individuals behaviour in sports is influenced by a combo of personality traits and situational factors
Integrates both trait and social learning
Inherent characteristics and their environment

19
Q

Summarise the interactionist theory?

A

Behaviour is a product of interaction

21
Q

Why is the interactionist theory more valid?

A

It can explain ehh quiet and shy individuals off the pitch can be great leaders on it

22
Q

Give two strengths of the interactionist theory
2 marks

A

—More realistic than the trait theory as
-it explains how the environment can trigger inherited traits
-Takes into account the effect of both traits and environment
—it explains why our behaviour is often unpredictable
—explains why people in the same environment behave differently
