What are the three groups of personality disorders?
A - odd/eccentric
B - emotional, impulsive
C - anxious
What are the three suspicious personality disorders
Paranoid personality disorder - lack of trust in other people
Schizoid personality disorder - disinterest towards other people
Schizotypal personality disorder - odd beliefs about other people
What are the emotional personality disorders?
Antisocial - reckless behaviour, lack of concern for others, criminal misconduct
Borderline - fluctuant, impulsive emotions and instability in relationships
Histrionic - desire to be the centre of attention, sexual seductiveness
Narcissistic - grandiose sense of self importance and need for others to recognise it
What are the anxious personality disorders?
Avoidant personality disorder - severe anxiety about rejection or disapproval, avoidance of relationships
Dependent personality disorder - heavy reliance on others to make decisions for them
Obsessive compulsive personality disorder - unrealistic expectations of how things should be done by themselves, meticulous, perfectionists
