Dose of BCG
- 05 mL < 12mos
0. 1 mL ≥ 12 ms
When is BCG given?
ASAP prefereably < 2mos old
When is PPD prior to BCG needed?
- Congenital TB
- History of close contact to known or suspected infectious cases
- Clinical findings and/or CXR suggestive of TB
Is PPD prior to BCG for > 2mos. old needed?
Not if they’re healthy
If there is an induration of 5mm in the presence of indications for PPD, should BCG still be administerd?
No.
How is BCG administered?
Intradermally
How is DTP administered?
Intramuscularly
When is DTP given?
≥ 6 weeks old
What consists the primary series of DTP?
3 doses with min interval of 4 wks
What consists the booster series of DTP?
3 doses until adolescence with schedule:
- 12-23 mos (DTP)
- 4-7 y/o (DTP)
- 9-15 y/o (Td/Tdap)
What is the ideal minimum interval between DTP booster doses?
at least 4 years
Until what age should the full-dose DTP preferably used?
Age 7 years (but package inserts should be consulted)
What does DTP stand for?
Diphtheria, Tetanus, Pertussis
How is HIB administered?
Intramuscularly

3 doses with min interval of 4 weeks
What is the min. age for HIB?
6 weeks
When is the HIB booster given?
Bet. 12-15 mos. after 6 mos. from 3rd dose
